2016 Planning Study

  • Our Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School (MCPS) community has been hard at work planning for the future of our great school. This planning process has allowed us to identify a number of key areas that we believe are vital for our continued success and growth. Before we make any final decisions regarding our long-range plans, we conducted a planning study in February and March of 2016 to gather your thoughts on some of the areas that we have identified:

Construction of a new state-of-the-art gym.

Construction of a multi-purpose facility to be known as the Loretto Center (in honor of the Sisters of Loretto who founded our school) and the creation of performing arts classrooms. The Loretto Center will be used primarily for performing arts, but it will also be a benefit to the entire Catholic community for other uses.

Construction of a new chapel and administrative officeson Vaughn Road

We retained the services of the Steier Group, a development consulting firm, to conduct a comprehensive planning study. This study has allowed us to gather everyone’s thoughts regarding the items listed above. It also determined whether there is sufficient support to move forward with a major fundraising effort to accomplish some, or all, of these goals.  The answer: YES!

Below you will find the master plan fact sheet, which describes these projects in greater detail. You will also find the final report from our planning study. These are exciting times at Montgomery Catholic. We are looking forward to a very bright future.

Please remember to keep Montgomery Catholic in your prayers and know you will remain in mine.
