    Dear Families,
     
    We are so excited that we're able to offer you the online  Family Profile Update to update your students' information. Our families are now able to complete all forms from any laptop, tablet or smartphone, and it only takes a few minutes.
     
    There have been some known issues that families have encountered, and we are working to resolve them.
     

     Known issues of the Family Profile Update and solutions are detailed below.

     
    The Family Profile Update rolled out to all families who are current with the Business Office. Families have received a snapcode and snapcode link for each child registered at Montgomery Catholic. Family Profile Update notification emails are sent to the primary Montgomery Catholic family email address.
     
    Parents should complete the Family Profile Update as soon as possible.
    • PowerSchool will be opened within 2 business days for any families who submit their Family Profile Updates for each student after July 24.
    • Students will not be able to access their schedules (7th-12th grades) or homeroom information (K4-6th grades) in PowerSchool until the Family Profile Update is complete.
    • Returning students in 10th-12th grades will not be able to pick up laptops until the Family Profile Update is completed and submitted.
    • YOUR STUDENT CANNOT ATTEND SCHOOL AT MCPS UNTIL THE FAMILY PROFILE UPDATE IS COMPLETE AND SUBMITTED
     
    Once you are current with the Business Office and you have submitted the FamilyProfileUpdate, your child's enrollment at Montgomery Catholic is complete!
     

    THE MOST COMMON KNOWN ISSUE: One problem most families have reported is that they cannot submit, and the most common cause is in the emergency contacts section. THE UPDATE WILL NOT FLAG THIS SECTION AS BEING INCOMPLETE. You will have to go through each emergency contact, click on the checkbox next to each contact, and make sure all fields for their contact info is filled in.

    1. Return to the Emergency Contacts screen
    2. Under each emergency contact name, click on the checkbox that says "Check here if you would like to add or modify the contact name." Do this even if the contact name is correct.
    3. Re-enter the contact name into the required fields
    4. Click the green "Next" button to continue and save your changes
    5. Complete all required fields (phone number in the correct format, relationship to student, etc.)
     
    Other places where families have gotten stuck:
    • Dates and phone numbers are required to be entered in a certain format: (XXX) XXX-XXXX
    • Acceptable Use Policy agreement (needs a YES to continue)
    • Laptop lease agreement (needs a YES to continue)
    • Emergency Contact list (each emergency contact's information must be entered for each field)
     

     1. How do I log in to my account? 

     
    RETURNING FAMILIES WHO COMPLETED A FAMILY PROFILE UPDATE IN SCHOOL YEAR 2018-2019
    • You need to log in and complete the form using your account details created in the 2018-19 school year
    • If you have forgotten your password, click on "Forgot Password?" under the green "Sign In" button.
     
    NEW FAMILIES FOR THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR
    • If you’ve never completed an online Family Profile Update, you will need to create an account (see instructions below). This allows you to securely save your work and come back at a later time if necessary. You can use your email address or cell phone number.
    • WE STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO USE YOUR MONTGOMERYCATHOLIC.ORG FAMILY EMAIL ADDRESS

     

     2. I am a NEW PARENT and I cannot log into my account to complete my Family Profile Update 

     
     
    Solution: You must first create an account to complete your update
     
    If this is your first time using the online Family Profile Update, you must create a new account. Once it is created, it can be used in future years for the next Family Profile Updates.
     
    If you have created an account and forget your password when you try to log back in, click on "Forgot Password?" under the green "Sign In" button.
     

     3. I am a RETURNING PARENT and I don't remember my login or password to complete my Family Profile Update 

     
     
    Solution: You can recover your account you created last year by clicking "Forgot Password?"
     
    If you created an account for a previous Family Profile Update and have forgotten your password when you try to log back in, click on "Forgot Password?" under the green "Sign In" button.
     
    **Please note that you may not have used your Montgomery Catholic family email address to login last year!
     
    If you cannot remember what email account you used when you created your family account, you can also click on "Sign into your account using your cell phone number", click on "Forgot Password?", and proceed through the instructions to recover your password that way.
     

     3. I've recovered my password, but now I don't see my child's 2019-2020 profile update in the dashboard 

     
    Solution: Find the email with your child's snapcode information and click the link from there
     
    After you have recovered your password, you will need to use the snapcode link generated for your child in order to complete the update. Simply go back to that invitation email that was sent to your Montgomery Catholic family email account, click on the snapcode link and login!
     

     4. I cannot modify Parent Name / Child Name / Birthday etc. 

     
    There are certain fields that are pre-populated and cannot be edited. Go ahead and complete and submit the rest of the form as we cannot change anything until after you have submitted it to us. If you need us to change any of the information after you have submitted your forms, contact Frances Harbin or Mindy Walski for assistance.

     5. I never received an email with a snapcode for my student, and I have checked my Montgomery Catholic family email address 

     
    Solution: You may need to check with the Business Office for more information
     
    Only families who are current with the Business Office have received their snapcode emails. Check with Jennifer Van Alst to ensure that your student has completed registration.

     6. I am having difficulty submitting my information 

     
    Be sure to check that every required question has a response. You will not be able to submit your forms until you answer every required question.
